Welcome to my
Commonplace Book!

In the late Middle Ages, scholars started using “Commonplace Books” to collect knowledge of all kinds. These were not journals, but more like scrapbooks to gather quotes, letters, scientific formulae, and personal thoughts. Famous commonplace books were maintained by Thomas Jefferson, Francis Bacon, Henry David Thoreau, and Mark Twain. Sherlock Holmes himself solved a number of crimes by referencing his commonplace books!

This website isn't so much a blog as my own digital commonplace book where I keep items of personal interest.

I hope you enjoy it!

Relaxing w/ Celtic Knots

Relaxing w/ Celtic Knots

I’ve found drawing Celtic Knots to be the perfect activity for “active mental relaxation”.  It takes a little while for the under/over pattern to become second-nature, but man, is it exhilarating when it does!

Ironically enough, I usually make mistakes (like in the bottom left) when I find myself thinking too much.

I’ve found Aidan Meehan’s books to be the best instruction, at least for me.
